Dobler Consulting Is Now an ISUG Partner

Thursday, July 7th, 2011

To further deepen the commitment to Sybase, Dobler Consulting is now an official ISUG partner. ISUG is the worldwide community for Sybase users with a huge member base. I believe that everybody who is involved with Sybase products as a user, developer, database expert or manager should be part of this community. Basic membership is free, which is almost unheard of for a worldwide professional association like ISUG.

Bottom-line, the more members ISUG can attract the more influential it gets and this transfers directly to you. With your feedback and product enhancement request, ISUG is in a position to make your word heard by Sybase.

As long time member of ISUG and advocate for its cause, becoming a partner with my company Dobler Consulting was a logical step. Starting in October of last year, Dobler Consulting is hosting the Tampa Bay ISUG meetings and since the re-launch we got into a rhythm of having a meeting every other month. The next meeting is scheduled August 11th and we will have an afternoon session with PowerBuilder and its roadmap, followed by an evening session on Sybase 15.7. Details will be released as soon as the schedule and agenda are confirmed.

Please visit the ISUG website at http://www.isug.com and if you’re not a member, sign up today.

Take care,
Peter

Tampa Bay International Sybase User’s Group Chapter Enhances Member Benefits with Inside Track Technology Information

Monday, May 2nd, 2011

TAMPA, Fla., April 27, 2011

Peter Dobler, of Dobler Consulting, www.doblerconsulting.com, is spearheading the Tampa Bay International Sybase Users Group with monthly meetings to share best practices for becoming more effective Sybase DBA’s, database designers, and software engineers. Dobler plans to strengthen the group by creating regular, on-going meetings to exchange ideas with like-minded database professionals, and promote Sybase technology information sharing.

Because of SAP’s current position with Sybase, new interest in Sybase technology is gaining a large foothold with companies world-wide. Sybase User Groups are connecting members to share best practices, new technologies, performance topics, valuable content, and fresh ideas through ISUG meetings. Dobler says:”It’s been several years since a Sybase User Group meeting has been held in Tampa. Now is the time to restart this event, and rally the Sybase community in Tampa.”

Dobler’s main focus is to keep members abreast of the latest goings-on in the technology arena. He is dedicated to help database professionals achieve their goals, and improve their company’s Sybase systems by brainstorming about Sybase technology. Dobler’s goal is to provide added benefits to members:”Every attempt will be made to have renowned speakers, and attractive topics to draw diverse attendees. Although the main focus is on current Sybase users, non-Sybase users are encouraged to join as well. This is the perfect opportunity to hear about the technology, and listen to hands-on experiences of current users. There’s always plenty of time to meet database professionals, and network at these meetings.”

Upcoming topics for the User Group include: tuning ASE, and diagnosing performance problems, Sybase’s latest technologies, such as what is going to change with Sybase ASE 15.7 (the SAP release), and learning how other companies improve their Sybase database systems.

The monthly meetings are held at 8270 Woodland Center Blvd, Tampa, FL from 6 to 8:30 pm. All meetings have an on-line capability for users to attend in any location worldwide.
